The Kittens’ success has taken them all around the globe including being crowned the Face of MTV Asia. Having done everything from topping the charts all over the world to pinning their AK slogan across Prince Charles' chest, as guests of HRH at the 2001 Party in The Park, the Kittens also picked up several awards along the way. These include: 2001 Disney Awards for Best Pop Act and World's Sexiest Females, Best Pop Act nomination at the MTV EuropeAwards, Smash Hits Poll Winners Award for Best Single, the Music Week award for Best Pop act online with AtomicKitten.com, Capital Award for best pop group, and 'Best Pop Single' and 'Best British Newcomer' at The BritAwards.
Having taken time out to focus on other interests, in 2013 the girls took part in The Big Reunion, a British reality-documentary series that began airing on ITV2 on 31 January 2013. The show featured chart-topping bands who were big in the UK pop music scene between the 1990s and early 2000s, and the programme followed them as they reunited for the first time in a decade and went through their two weeks of intensive rehearsals before finally stepping back on stage for a comeback performance.
The first series which featured AtomicKitten,Five,911,B*Witched, Blue, Honeyz and Liberty X, proved to be an unexpected hit for ITV2, becoming the channel's highest rated premiere in five years, and going on to achieve over 1 million viewers every week, making itone of the channel's most popular shows.
Another mini-series, entitled The Big Reunion: On Tour, aired from 5–19September 2013. It followed the groups embarking on a SOLD OUT arena tour, and other behind-the-scenes action.The show concluded with The BigChristmas Reunion, a Christmas special, which aired 12 December 2013. It saw the bands recording a Christmas charity single for Text Santa and raised over 5.5 million for vulnerable adults.
This Summer Euro 2020 saw all three kitten’s reunite in support of the England football team, with a revised version of their smash hit Whole Again giving the girls another top 20 hit 20 years after the release of the original track which also re entered the charts in the top 40.
Atomic Kitten can be seen performing regularly across the UK and Europe this summer (Covid permitting) and with 2022 show dates already in the diary, this girl band, whose mantra is “Once a Kitten Always a Kitten” are very much proving that they are still alive and purring!
