Samantha Mumba is an Irish and Zambian singer who has seen plenty of chart success around the world. Starting out on stage at a young age, Samantha first enrolled in stage school at the tender age of 3 and stayed there until She was 15. At that age she took part in a TV singing contest called “Let Me Entertain You” in Dublin and immediately impressed talent scouts. As such, X-Factor Judge and pop band manager Louis Walsh snapped her up and signed her to Polydor Records. A debut album, Gotta Tell You, soon followed and found Samantha writing most of the tracks. It was a well received work and reached number 4 in the US Hot 100 Billboard Chart, selling more than 4.5 Million copies throughout the world in all. It spawned singles like “Gotta Tell You”, “Baby Come On Over” and ”Body 2 Body” and led Samantha on to win the Smash Hits Poll Party “Best Female Newcomer” as well as being nominated for a Grammy Award.
In 2002 Samantha starred in Steven Spielberg’s “The Time Machine” and became Youth Ambassador in Ireland for Unicef in 2003. Her move career then continued to go from strength to strength and starred in Irish smash hit Boy Eats Girl and then in 2006 performed in the Irish Movie Johnny Was. Samantha is also an accomplished model who has worked with Ultimo, Reebok and Dior. She is now based in the US and continues to work on screen in a variety of roles.
